Forklift Water Pump - The water pump is connected to the crankshaft of the engine. It is a basic centrifugal pump which is driven by a belt that is attached to the crankshaft. When the engine is running, the pump circulates fluid.
The water pump makes use of centrifugal force in order to send water to the outside while it turns. This action causes fluid to be continuously drawn from the pump's center. The pump inlet is located near the center. This design enables fluid returning from the radiator to hit the pump vanes. The pump vanes are strategically positioned to fling the fluid outside of the pump so it goes in the engine.
The fluid initially flows throughout the cylinder head and engine block prior to exiting the pump. Then the fluid goes into the radiator before finally returning to the pump.
